Working for a friend in the USA

I have a friend in the US who will give me a job in his business. I am
wonder what the best way to go about this is. I have looked at the H-1B
visa, but this is only for graduates, which I am not. The H-2B visa
looks more appropriate, but it is only a temporary visa and I want to stay.
What are my options?

Pretty much none...
You have to have qualifications that are in short supply in the US.

Pretty much none...
