Default Work Stoppage at Nebraska

People, this is just plain crazy. Nebraska is DEAD! 17 apps processed per
day is basically a work stoppage. I fear that most of us will now be waiting
9-12 months or longer just for NOA2. My NOA1 is April 3 and we'll be lucky
to get an NOA2 by Christmas.

When I filed in April, approvals were running only 4 1/2 months. WHAT
HAPPENED????? WHAT CAN BE DONE???

8/20/03 NSC reported:

New Approvals=3
New RFE's=14

Dec 0 app, 0 Rfe
Jan 1 app, 0 Rfe
Feb 1 app, 14 Rfe (Whats with so many RFE?)
Mar 1 app, 0 Rfe
Apr 0 app, 0 Rfe
May 0 app 0 Rfe

Booger, does you case by any chance fit one of the criteria that might possibly warrant an expedite? If you don't have the criteria, I'll be happy to post them for you.

Good luck.

Hi Matt,

Well, from what I understand it involves hardships which I have none sans my
breaking heart.

Matt, what hardships would allow for an expedite?

Thanks,
Trent

"Very nice" NSC works on Nebraska having petitions from January Yuck....

Senators and congressmen are useless in help, they can tell only where your case is..... and not always...

I still have the hope that they will update online status on Friday or Saturday

what hardships would allow for an expedite?
Only death of petitioner and beneficiary.... in this case it will be like postmorten rewarding .... i am kidding, sorry that it is black joke

Olenka who is in row for her reward.... the question is if she needs this reward without possibility to enjoy it then

Yes, I understand that they will bury a couple togther very quickly. It is an easy transition for them as they bury the living with paperwork in the prime of their lives. My next petition will be delivered in a hearse. DOA

This comes from the VSC, but I think these same criteria hold true for the other centers as well:

1. Humanitarian Situation where compelling humanitarian needs are present as exists when a U.S. citizen or LPR petitions for a relative (where the visa number is available) who is requiring medical treatment or special care, or in cases where the petition is for a minor child who lacks appropriate supervision or security. Medical documentation may be required.
2. Extreme Emergent or Unforseen Circumstances such as when a petitioner, through no fault of his own, is faced with an emergency as occurs with nonimmigrant petitions for members of the arts such as when a musician, singer or other performer approved for a nonimmigrant classification is suddenly stricken with an illness and must be immediately replaced.
3. Severe Financial Loss To Company or Individual such as when failure to adjudicate a petition within a specific time frame would cause severe financial harm or loss to a U.S. entity and no other remedy exists.
4. Service Error such as when the service has made an error in processing a case and that error has delayed the receipt of a lawful benefit.
5. Dept. of Defense or National Interest Situation: The request must come from an official U.S. Govt. entity and state that the delay will be detrimental to our government.
6. Nonprofit status or requesting organization in furtherance of the cultural and social interests of the U.S.
7. Compelling interests of the service.

I pointed these criteria out to a news group member a few weeks ago that had a pregnant fiancée. Don’t recall if it was a complicated pregnancy, but after reading my suggestion as to how these criteria might apply to his situation he asked for the expedite (after being told by others in this group that there is no way they ever expedite a case) and it was granted (the expedite) and immediately approved (the underlying I-129f).
