Default Will this work?

I have a friend who's fiancé is going back to the United Arab Emirates to work for awhile. They have not seen each other in almost 3 years

Someone told him that because of the turbulence going on in the middle east he could write a letter when he submitted the papers for his fiancé visa stating how dangerous it was to visit and so could avoid the meeting within 2 year rule.

This sounds like a knuckle headed idea to me. Will this work? I think he is wasting his time.

Default I doubt it

Which one is the USC? Regardless, I doubt that plan would work, as there are plenty of other countries they can meet in, if he feels the Middle East is too dangerous for her to visit. He could even go to her home country to see her and that would fulfill the requirement.

Thanks for the reply. Your right they could meet somelace else. I think the whole problem right now is money, he doesn't have any and wants a short cut I think. I told him this wouldn't work.

He is "going back to UAE"? Why can't they meet where he is now?
Why can't they meet in a non dangerous location?

I doubt it will work.

She is from the Philippines he is in the USA. She can't come here, he can't afford to go there right now. I told him this wouldn't work. Wanted some input from others to show him. Thanks all

So, it is a financial problem, not because of it being dangerous in UAE.
That won't fly

I kind of had to laugh at him about this, like the phillipines are the safest place to go and he has been there twice.

Hi All,

The Muslim groups are mostly in the southern group of islands, but a few
weeks ago some military troops threatened to blow up part of Makati (the
most modern part of the Philippines that I saw), so you could get it from
either side there.

Some people will swear it's heaven on earth there. I went twice and I say
it's a pretty third world banana republic.

Take care,

Mike
