Why is Guangzhou taking so long?
My fiancée received packet #3 on July 22, 2004. She returned the paperwork
to the consulate on August 2, 2004. We have not received packet # 4 or an
interview date as yet. When I contacted the consulate via email they
responded they were waiting for her case to be scheduled for an interview.
That was 3 weeks ago. Why is it taking so long just to schedule a date for
her interview? My application expired September 26, 2004. It has also been
379 since I started this whole process. What is the normal wait time for the
interview after the consulate has received the paperwork? What can I do to
speed things along?

I don't know much about Guangzhou's consulate.. but maybe they are very busy?.

Guangzhou is running 5 ~ 6 months from P-3. The last batch of P-4s filled out the interview calendar through November with P-3 dates of very early June. For the best info on what is going on with GZ, take a look here:
