Hi Ya'll

I am getting married on June 1st, finally. I was one of the lucky ones at TSC that
got through. I have now arrived in Texas with K1 visa, sailed through no problemo
with work permit etc.

The interview in London was a sinch. Medical first, what a character he was. Embassy
when done, hand in papers, they call you up and check everything is there. The lady I
had was bitching about some previous applicant. You then get called up for interview.
I had three questions - How did you meet (online), what do you do, what does she do,
then it was come back in an hour for your visa and x-rays. job done.

What I need to know is what forms do I need to file for AOS once I'm married. I have
looked on various websites (including INS) and they are not very clear. Some forms
are $1000 to file. I am now working so will need to refile for work permitt before
end of 90 days as well.

Well I think you have to read a bit more carefully. That $1,000 you are speaking of is for when you have entered the US without examination and that does not apply to you.

Go to the INS website and order the I-485 package. That is about the simpliest way to go. You will need the I-485, I-864, I-765, I-131, 9003.

In fact read the FAQ pages and Alvena's site you will find answers to all the questions you may have.

Here are the URLs. Had to do it this way so I could cut and paste because you are not using expats and therefore won't see my signature with the URLS.

You did not say when you entered but hopefully you are aware that you need to get
married and file the AOS within the 90 days. You will need the marriage certificate
before you file the AOS.

AOS consists of the following: I-485 fee is $220 I-131 fee is $95 (you only need to
file this if you are planning on leaving the US before you get the Adjustment. It is
only good for 1 year) I-765 fee is $100 (1 year EAD) I-865 G-325A

As you can see the most you would have to pay is $415 so I am not sure where you get
this $1000 fee payment at.

You can either download the forms from www.ins.gov or you can order them.

Where do you get the 9003? Unless I am missing something (which is completely
possibl). I was just out at the INS forms website and totally missed seeing the 9003.
This is the IRS form that Alvena speaks of, right? Any help would be great for we are
filing tonight!

Thanks, Nicole

Have *you* tried looking on the IRS website for it?! It ain't there!!! It is,
however, on the INS website but not in the index - you have to go to the I-485 page
where it lists the link to:

http://www.ins.usdoj.gov/graphics/fo...s/irs-9003.pdf

I'm not really here - it's just your warped imagination.
