We Have a interview Date but i have another question
Hi all
we finally got a notice from the consulate in london and have a interview date. In the forms they sent with the notice it says u have to have an original and a copy of each document you submit , the problem is my cousin and her husband are co-sponsoring david with me as im a student. and i dont have their original tax forms to submit, i only have copies will this be ok, or do i have a real problem since the interview is only a few days away and the originals wont get to england in time . Did everyone else submit every original tax copy they had?
thanks again

Nobody has originals. They only have copies. So not sure what it is you have on hand for the I-134.

Hi Amber-
As far as taxes go, the IRS has the original on file, so you (the taxpayer) only have a copy of what you submitted to them. We submitted copies of tax returns and it wasn't a problem. What you'll need is the original of the employer letter, the original notarized affidavit of support, etc. Make sure you have copies of everything but your passport, photos, etc. (they tell you on the form what you don't need copies of).

It is possible to get certified copies from the IRS by filing Form 4506
and paying a nominal fee. It can take several months for these to
arrive. Certified copies should not be required except in unusual
cases. If the issue is the authenticity of the tax information, a tax
return transcript can be ordered by filing Form 4506-T. The result,
which comes pretty quickly, is a computerized printout that shows the
main items on Form 1040. Tax return transcripts are free.
If your joint sponsors in the U.S. live near an Internal Revenue Service
office, they may be able to get tax return transcripts on a walk-in
basis. But again, this shouldn't be necessary in most cases; generally
an ordinary photocopy of the return should be sufficient unless the
consular officer has reason to suspect document fraud.
