Well we finally got engaged so now need to start the process in ernest.
Can anyone recommend some good immigration attorneys in the Kansas City / Missouri area please

Immigration law is Federal, so the lawyer doesn't have to be local to you. But start here for your research: www.ailalawyer.com

Congrats Mark! Before you hire a lawyer check out the K1 visa process and form I-129F on the uscis website. We did use an attorney for that phase only but with hindsight we could have saved some money. See what you think. Every time you file with uscis there will be a fee of several hundred dollars and by the time you get your green card it will add up.
