Can anyone advise how long the waiver of ineligibility process takes.
I am planning to go on a short holiday with my family to the US in August. I have two previous convictions first 17 years ago for deception and second 7 years ago for ABH. Neither involved a jail sentence just a fine and community service.
I have a forthcoming interview with the US Embassy on 12 June, but as my holiday is in early August what is the chance of me getting a cleared visa in time?
Secondly, about12 years ago i travelled to the US on a Visa Waiver and did not declare the first offence. What is your advise on this when interviewed, will it detract from my application?
thanks

NEVER lie to immigration. Only answer the questions you are asked, and
ONLY the question asked.

Thanks Capt.
I have my interview scheduled now and will follow your advice. I have found actually talking/mailing to support (not for profit) organisations stateside to also very informative. Much more useful than the £1.20 a minute Embassy line and less expensive than using an immigration lawyer!
I have also spoke to my airline who were very supportive - my balance was due to be paid before my Visa interview they have agreed to prospone the balance until the day of my Interview, wheni hope that i will get an indication of my outcome. Worst case i will just loose my deposit. Good advice I hope for anyone else in a similar position.
