Hi, just wondering where the best site might be for info, or if anyone has any extra
knowledge regarding when an H1-B might get authorised? I have been waiting 8 weeks
now, and the company has assured me everything is OK. But I would like to get a
better idea of how long we might have to wait. The attorneys have said there have
been delays with processing recently..... Any info/thoughts appreciated Thanks in
advance Paul

The processing time depends on which center your application went to. Each center has
its own delays and is very difficult to predict. If its been 8 weeks, I don't think
there is reason to worry yet. Processing times have been increasing in all the
centers since fall last year. Particularly this year, the H-1B quota being increased,
there are a lot more applications.

Which center did your application go to? Almost all centers are taking between 10-14
weeks now.

You can check the status on your own if you have the case number. The first three
letters of the number will tell you which center the case is in (EAC is VT, SRC
is TX, etc.)

If you are outside the USA, you can use Dialpad to call USA free and check the status
of your case from the INS automated system.
