Visint the US
Hi
Not sure if this NG is for US people, or people wanting to goto the US.
I want to visit in a year, got many many friends in the US who have invited
me over, as i am a Palaeontologist/Ento and Herpetologist, with a vast
interest in military aircraft and US muscle cars....oh i like girls too!
Been invited to stay with a good few friends, i was hoping to plan a trip
around the W side, but get around NV, CA and Tx too, i want to arrange it so
i can get to a biggie US air show, car show too, so needs some good
planning.
Im wondering as a UK citizen how to get it done, never been so not sure how
to got about it, was planning on 3 weeks, maybe 4, i want to see some small
towns and take it steady, im reading up on US fish, game, wildlife laws.
I do a lot of local edu and community stuff, as i have a pretty restrictive
mobilty issue so cant work, but keep busy, but any forms i would have to
tick would say unemployed, is that held against you?
I havent had a passport for years, only been round Europe in my younger
years when i lived abroad.
Is there any websites that can help explain things, im not sure the health
issue would arrise, i would take my meds with me, but dry climates mean i
wouldnt need them anyway.
Only adult (18+?)criminal record i have is like a breach of the peace, like
shouting out loud in the street, nothing for violence, sex etc
Had the odd US girl marrage proposal thing over the years, my friend over
here is married to a American but they live here, but i have heard lots of
tv stories of major problems so want to sort things out well in advance,
plus im worried about walking thru customs with a slight limp, esp as im
younger looking and have very short hair(dont laugh).
thanks

You should talk to your US friends about accomodation and planning to see things as they are in a much better position to help you out than a website or people you don't know on usenet.
If you really want help from usenet, I suggest you ask in rec.travel.usa-canada
