Hi,

My wife came to US on H4 visa in her maiden name. Recently she got a new passport
with her married name and now she plans to travel outside USA. On her return, does
she need a new H4 or the old one is still good?

If she wishes when she travel outside US, your home countary She can get New H4, it will be better for her in future if you are applying for GC or other stuff, when she goes for Stamping she should Present the OLD passport that has Valid H4 Visa

But she can also travel from your home country to US on Previous Passport H4 VISA if it is not expired ( if VISA has not expired)

but if I am in your situation I will Stamp new H4 when I visit my Country because now INS may create problens at POE, better is to avoide it NEW PASSPORT, AND NEW H4,
according to law she can enter with newpassport and Visa valid sticker in passport, but that passport has diffrent name. Precautaion is always better, because rules are changing everyday
NOW she should Always keep BOTH the Passport attached.
She should also keeo the Notrized Copy of Name change Affidevt .
