I am waiting for notification of my US naturalization interview but need to travel abroad. How much lead time does the notice provide before the appointment date?

I am sure this varies from office to office, but we received an email on 4 Feb saying to login to USCIS account for a message that said they were sending a letter! Letter arrived a few days later with an Interview date of 10 Mar

Hi, I am sure it varies, but we just received an email on 10 February with a notice that interview will take place 11 March. We're in Sacramento, California. By the way this happened 13 months after submitting the application.

my daughter just got notification last week and the interview is March 17th - we are in Texas.
You can also request another date by sending back the letter. From past experience this usually adds another 3 weeks or so.

Congrats! You're ahead of the Sacramento curve. Their field office is listing 15 - 24 months. We applied 18 months ago and apart from a biometric re-use notice we've seen no movement.

I am just starting the process for N-400 also in the Sacramento area. How long did it take after submitting the application to get the biometrics appointment? I am trying to make travel plans but have been told not to miss the biometric appointment as it is hard to reschedule.

How long did it take before you were scheduled for the biometric appointment after submitting your N-400 application? Trying to make travel plans. I haven't submitted the application yet. I want to submit right before I go on vacation for one month, but don't want to risk missing the biometric appointment as I've been told it can delay the process significantly if the biometric is rescheduled

look up “walk in” biometrics… once you have a letter [pre covid] you could go on a different day to get them done..

We're still in Covid so do walk in biometrics apply again i.e. I can just walk in now?

no idea as I have not needed biometrics since 2019, you would need to share the area your in and see if anyone else on here has recent experience of a walk in at the office, but even if they are allowing walk-ins again, you need the letter first, the walking is just that you are going on an earlier day than the letter says.

My daughter's biometrics was waived a few months ago. Went straight to interview.
