I think we already moved into 21st century.
The post office is an ancient institution. They are bad, no matter how hard
they are trying.
I don't use them, period, unless I have to.
I'd rather pay more to FedEx because they are useful with business like
manner. They are good on what they do.
The post office is very good on their manipulating act. It would go bankrupt
in a heart beat if they allow private sector to compete.
Do you know that?

These things are probably true but few people are going to use fedex to
mail a letter. Important documents can be sent by fedex (and I would)
but I doubt INS will start sending out notices by fedex anytime soon

I understand.
I only use USPS when I have to. Otherwise, email is faster. Fax is also
available. Important documents deserve the FEDEX services.
How about that?

Did you file it through a lawyer or directly ? In my case, I live on the
east coast and my lawyers are on the west coast. All receipts and
acknowlegdements go to my lawyer, while all appointment notices and
approvals (EAD, Adv.Parole) have come directly to me. So initially all INS
mail seemed to go to my lawyers, then mail started trickling into my mailbox
too.

For a number of cases, the online status really sucks!!
My case has gone 2-3 steps ahead, but the online status has still not caught
up after months.

Rex,
I filed myself. I don't think that makes a difference in the way that they send you the notices. The letters either go to you or your lawyer, in plain first class mail.
