It's just more politcally motivated tripe.
Agreed. I mentioned what I mentioned based on Mo's mention of whacking it in the Wiki (just in case someone were to take it at face value).

It certainly is politically motivated. It has presumably been written in a simplified form as a counterbalance to the, "What don't you understand about the word illegal?" "They're criminals!" "Why don't they just get legal like everyone else had to?" and "The Democrats want their votes!" Tea Party-types to try to show them that many of their arguments are simply wrong. I agree its tripe as as you'd be better off throwing them peanuts or writing a C&W song to get your point across. But at least they made an effort to explain.

Out of one side of their mouth they claim there are really no legal avenues for people. Out of the other side of their mouth, when someone is caught out of status in the US and about to be removed, they claim "they're not illegal, they just have to sort out a little problem with their visa".

They can't have it both ways.

Well, we're going to have to sort the mess out with an amnesty, aren't we? That'll be fun getting it through the rabble!

I don't oppose normalizing some of the people that are here if they can fix the system so we don't have the same provlem again in 5 to 10 years. I don't know if it should be a "path to citizenship" for all. They should have to waive the opportunity to petition for people for a period of years or there will be an unstoppable torrent of chain migration.

Could you imagine if 5 years from now 12 million new citizens petition for all of their aging parents? The health care system could not handle the strain.

Under the last proposed "blue card", it would have been 1.5 to 2 decades to citizenship by my calculations.

Yep -- some of the family sponsorship categories need removing. Hopefully the new bill will do it -- or maybe we'll end up with a half-cooked bill like the health care one because nobody can get anything done with angry tea party persons making the loudest noise.

They may have made noise, but it was ignored.
