US Immigration flow chart
Far from definitive or comprehensive, but amusing and useful to many...

I copied it into the Pulaski thread (Really really want to live in the US?).

I will place a bet right now that despite this glorious visual aid, some people will still think it's just a matter of getting a one way ticket and picking up their big 'murikun flag on arrival.
Any takers?

Sums up the various route to Green card then Citizenship well. Missing the Green Card Lottery (Probably the quickest way to green card besides petition via immediate relatives, if you're selected) and Asylum routes though.

I like it - but it butchers the L1 route a little...
Degree? Not necessary
Labor Cert - Not always necessary
Employer waiting 6-10 years for you to start work? - Nope.

I'm sure we all agree that it's essentially a political cartoon and a caricature of the real system. It skips the lottery, refugees, asylees which account for about 100,000 immigrants each year.
It grossly inflates the time frame and qualifications needed for a work visa.
It's just more politcally motivated tripe.

It's also clear on it that there are NO permanent visas for unskilled workers, which is a persisting myth for all citizens in the US that have never dealt with immigration. Somehow most everyone in the US seems to think there's a list you sign up and then you can come to pick fruit legally, and all the illegals just don't want to wait their turn...

Fantastic, but it omits those with criminal records (probably for a good reason with it not being straightforward).

I think if you're Cuban or Candian, a few special options are available.
Still, very funny and probably accurate for 99% of people saying "I've been to Disneyworld, now how do I move there"?
