Urgent! Should I file for Second I-129F

Our I-129F was approved on Oct 18, 2002 and we still haven't received
anything from Guangzhou. I emailed GZ 2 weeks ago, they got back to
me saying they haven't received anything. Called INS, they said they
definately sent it via cable to Guangzhou.

I tried writing to INS VSC and my local congressman, but so far no
reply. I'm afraid the packet from VSC might have been lost somewhere.
It is now in limbo and nobody seem to take responsibility for it.

Should I file a second I-129F Petition? Is there a problem with doing
that? I checked VSC's timeline and it seems filing a I-129F is about
6 months faster than the I-824 (request to resend). VSC has only
begun processing I-824
from Feb. 2002.

Might I suggest that all of you who are waiting on the Chinese embassy
and the Russian embassy, and wondering what the holdup is, go out to the
following website and do some reading. It seems that the holdup is the
DOJ and background checks.

Special on CNN?

There was supposed to be a special aricle on CNN about delays in Russian
and Chinese embassies on the 20th, but it got nixed over the Trent Lott
fiasco. It is supposed to be rescheduled. Check this website.

Re: Urgent! Should I file for Second I-129F

Jason,
First off GZ does not accept cables or fax's only original approvals. approvals can take up to 4 months to get to GZ, first they are collected at the SC then sent in a pouch to DC where it waits until another pouch is filled for China then it is sent to HK and then to Beijing then to GZ and each step it waits until the pouch is full. There are several egroups that deal with China and can give better info on China. Try these groups http://groups.yahoo.com/group/China-USA-Couples/
