Default URGENT REQUEST!

Hello All,

My wife is Russian and has been here with me for one year+, she is a huge
blessing to me. She is attending ESL classes at the continuing education
center of the local school system.

The problem is this. She met another Russian lady at school who has just
been here 2 or 3 months. She has a daughter that is 14. The father of this
family is abusive. I have seen the bruises and the fear. The mother and
daughter were visiting with my family and when it was time to take them home
my wife and I went to the door with them. He had locked them out of their
apartment. This apartment is in a dangerous neighborhood so I didn't feel I
could leave them in the street. So, we brought them to our house for the
night. I know the H1B father has filed some papers for them but he doesn't
keep them informed of the progress.

I am asking you if anyone knows their options with BCIS. It would be very
dangerous for them to go back to Russia because he has friends there and
there is the possibility that he may go back after them there. If anyone
knows an "advocate"(attorney) org. or individual that can help, I would be
more than happy to make the contact to help these women escape this
situation.

Thanks,
Dan Davis

Hi:

Get on the phone to find battered womens shelters -- see if you can get a referral to an organization with either some immigration expertise or access to same.

Your motivations are sincere, but you don't know all the facts and there may very well be more than one way to skin a cat. There are resources out there.

Good luck.
