Hi,
I am recently on F-1 visa in USA and offered an internship in canda... i dont have any clue as to how to go about it ?? and is this possible ?? can i take a break of a year or so and work in canada??? and still maintain my f-1 status ??
please guide me.. i m open to any suggestions and solutions..

hey thnkss but i wanted to know....more on usa side... how to work out here... and will i require labour certificate for canada i am nt sure will i or not from tht website....

Best idea is to post in the US forum then, rather than the Canada one. It's unlikely that anybody in this forum will have much knowledge of US immigration law.

A year off would likely cause you to pay the SEVIS fee again and get a new I-20.

Also, check with your DSO, but keep in mind that some school officials are well informed, and some are not.

My daughter was a student in Toronto...she worked as an intern once during the summer holidays and once as part of her course. She had a work visa....BTW she didn't receive any payment for the work.
