Background: I'm a conditional permanent resident by marriage living in the US.
I originally entered the US on a British passport with a L1 visa and switched to permanent resident after I married a US citizen.
I've triple citizenship: British, Irish and Australian which I provided full details of during the green card application process.

My question is: my UK passport has now expired and I'd rather use my Irish to travel going forward since it confers easier travel in the EU. Is it possible to do so now I'm a permanent resident and not on a specific visa? Has anyone else done this? I expect it would be a fairly common question now for people born in NI.

Your entry to the U.S. can be made solely with your Green Card and/or a Trusted Traveler card.
The passport in this sense is simply required to board planes etc.
