Re: UK citizen sponsorship for US job
I have now read the full link and understand that there is a basically no way for me to get a sponsor etc for the states, my dreams have been crushed! I will just need to keep trying some how. I hope that there is some way that I can get a visa as I love this country and would eventually love to bring a family up here. Thanks for your help
Very best of luck.

It's do-able, it just won't happen quickly. If you're really determined, then get working towards it - get a degree (ideally a masters), and starting working in a field that is more specialist, for a company with offices in the US. You never know, you might meet a lovely USC girl along with way, but you don't want to rely on that, so focus on getting there via an employment based visa and it's achievable.
Very best of luck.

Thanks a lot for the information everyone. i am interested in business and administration. I have been checking courses back home and see that there is the option of a masters course in International Business Managemenrt, do you think that a masters degree in this course would help me be able to move out here? Obviously nothing is guaranteed, I maybe couldn’t even get into the course, but just wondering. All this stuff is new to me and some of it is confusing.
thanks

Nope unfortunately I do not, I went straight from school into working and worked for 7 year then have been travelling the past 16 months. So I haven’t done much studying. I have obtained qualifications through my work, but none that are considered very great.

Then you usually need to get your Bachelor's degree before getting onto a Master's degree

Ah okay, I see, I see that a bachelors degree usually takes around 4 years and a masters at least 2 years. I did not think it was going to be an easy process to get to stay here in the states, but I had no idea that it was going to be this length of process. I do wish I had known when I was younger, that this was where I wanted to come. But it is never too late for me to start now

Or if you by any chance have the funds, you could study in the US?

One of the things that never seems to get mentioned is that the employer who intends to sponsor you has to show evidence that they advertised the position for six months, and that no American was available to take that position.
They also have to demonstrate that they are paying the prevailing wage for the position.
At least that was the case when my sponsor did it.

It's absolutely not too late. A bachelor's degree in the UK is 3 years, and a masters 1 year - so 4 years in total. You could do an MBA, that would probably help your chances huge and you could do it whilst working (my husband did his over 18 months whilst working full-time too).

I don’t know if by that you are suggesting my husband doesn’t work hard. I’d like to see you try it. This winter he will be one of the lucky ones with a snow route as well as winter maintenance in the graveyards. Unfortunately many clients scale back their orders in the winter. He can’t force them to have their work done. He doesn’t do homes. He works for a national company that does graveyards, U-Dub, housing complexes, Microsoft, etc.
We could sit here all night and compare the 50s with now. My grandfather was a baker in the 50s and supported a family of 4 and put his 2 daughters through private school. That wouldn’t be possible now either. I don’t see what relevance that has to the discussion, though. OP is not looking for a time machine to get a landscaping job in the 50s.
