The UK and the US have very, very different immigration laws. Pretty much anyone in the EU can move to the UK and get a job, that is not the case with the US. There are visa limits and pretty strict criteria. US immigration is based far more around family rather than employment.

Your best option would seem to be working for a multinational company for a few years and seeing if you can get transferred to a US branch for a short period. It's not uncommon but there are some experience requirements that you wouldn't have right away.
Sorry DancingK i am using your thread for my question but something I want to ask after reading Duncan's post. Hope you wont mind

Here is the question: If the company you are working with has their headquarter in US and many other branches all over in US and around the world, if they want to transfer one of their non-US Citizen employee from another country (e.g. UAE) to one of their branches in US: 1- will the transfer procedure take lots of months?
2- Roughly how much will it cost to transfer a employee from their one branch to another? Here I am only talking about the cost on legal formalities. dont count the airfare n relocation cost etc
3- I read somewhere on this forum that the hiring company files a petition in US and once approved, the employee applies for employment visa from his/her country of residence. Do the visas are rejected at this point too? i.e. after the petition was once approved. If yes, How often the rejection at his point happens?

It would be a better idea to start your own thread. Maybe a mod will move this into one. I thought you were interested in just visiting the US?
1) I can take a long time. Budget about 5 months from start to finish on an L1. You would need to be in a managerial/exec level. Depending on your experience and education, you may get an H1, again another 5-6 months at least.
2) Potentially tens of thousands with legal and application fees. Employer will have to pay this, figure about $12-15,000.
3) Of course, they can get rejected at any time. They can even get canceled (after they have been issued) at the POE by CBP. They would probably most often get rejected at the interview stage at the Embassy. How often does it happen? We would have no idea.

Not necessarily, they can also have niche, specialist company knowledge.

BILDER thank you for your input.

Purpose of my going to US this time is purely visit and nothing more. why I asked this question is because I am not very happy with the cutlure we have here in our UAE branch. I dont want to go into details but overall I am not satisfied with what I am doing. JOb satisfaction is zero. On the contrary, our team in US seems to be much more professional, energetic, active and the team leader there gives everyone equal chance to grow in his/her job area. Plus the processes over there are not that complicated as we have them here in UAE. So it came to my mind few times that what If i get a chance to work with the other team in US, even for a very short time , say 6 months to one year. I will enjoy working, have a good exposure in corporate world and definitely get a chance to actually learn. Hence that question of mine regarding transfer to US.

I am looking out for job here in UAE too. I dont want to work under this boss for long. Either I find a new job at new place. Or if I stay with same company then I will like to work with our team in US.
