Sorry on behalf of the condescending, so called know it all's on here. I would recommend that until you contact the embassy itself, I would'nt risk it because if you do you could end up getting into a sticky situation at the other end. As far as suspended sentences are concerned it's kindve an ongoing procedure and one could assume you're trying to avoid prosecution. Check the terms of your suspended sentence with a solicitor but dont depend on a UK solicitor when it comes to wether or not the US should accept you unless they have knowlege of the Law in the US. Since applying for your visa, your criminal convictions have exceeded and you need to think about wether it's worth risking not bringing that to their attention. You don't want it to come to the point where they never let you come over again. Whatever advice you get from the embassy or a solicitor make sure you get it in writing.

Maybe when you have been a member for years and years...have a tad more than 22 posts under your belt and have helped hundreds and hundreds of members...if not thousands...maybe then you will be in a position to call our members condescending. Many of these so call condescending people have been answering the same old questions...asked over and over again by people who can't be bothered to search the forums for past threads...or do a little of their own research. They were helping people long before you joined and will be doing so long after you've moved on from BE.

If you wish to take this up further please do so by PM and not in this thread. Thanks.

The Embassy are notorious for giving wrong advice. A US immigration lawyer would give proper advice.

Oh dear lord... OP, do NOT contact the embassy for advice. They frequently give out wrong information and cannot be held responsible if you act on it.

In order to get a suspended sentence, he has gone to court, either plead or been found guilty and sentenced. How could that in any shape or form be trying to avoid prosecution. Like the rest of the drivel in your post did you bother to think about it before you typed it.

Should I be pedantic and point out the number of grammatical and spelling mistakes in the post?. If that's any sort of guide to the quality of your advice, then the OP should avoid it like the plague.

Sorry on behalf of the people with 22 posts who think the visa you are referring to is actually a credit card and that a suspended sentence makes you an Interpol fugitive.

The SCOTUS has upheld that you can not count on, as accurate, anything told to you by a US government employee.

I recommend you worry about your own housing issues in NY... because, quite frankly, you totally suck at giving US immigration advice.

So you say... but it's all fun and games until you kill someone. Your pattern of offenses demonstrates both a lack of self-control and a reckless intent. Frankly, I'd prefer you don't come to the US. We have enough drunk drivers here as it is without having to import any.
