hello,
I am an iranian who is an US permanent resident.
I need to go back home for couple of weeks.
Is there anything else that i need besides my passport ,
green card and social security card to show INS officer
in my return to USA?. What are my chances of being allowed
back into US?.
what are cautionary measures,...?

Nothing else is needed. The social security card is not needed and I
have never heard of an INS officer asking to see it.

You are a permanent resident. If all of your documents are valid and you
are not away for a long period of time (ie, greater than 1 year) there
is no reason why you should not be allowed back in to the US
