Default Traffic Citation - N400 - Interview - Question - Please Help - Urgent !!!!

Hi,

I received my interview letter and am scheduled for April 8, 2004, in
Central Florida.

I was reading about people's experiences with the interview and this
question arose of the one where it says have you been arrested, cited,
detained, etc.

I selected "NO" in the application because I thought it meant crimial
citation.

I have recieved one CIVIL traffic violation ticket when I crossed a
red light.

I paid and went to traffic school immediately.

Now, I am having a heart attack thinking whether I should have clicked
"Yes" on the application and listed the citation, since I did not know
what it really meant and I thought it was for criminal citations, I
said NO.

Please help me as to what to do, becz I've got severe stress thinking
about this, do I tell the interviewer immediately about the citation
when I meet him/her or do I just go with the flow, if they ask a
question, I mention it, etc.? What should I do? Will this effect my
Naturlization process?

Should I go to the court and get a copy of the citation?

Please Help Me.

Thanks.

I doubt that this is criminal citation. My interview officer asked about traffic ticket, I told him that I did have speeding ticket and paid. That's it. This is not legal advice.

Jzi,

Don't worry.I was in the same boat. I had no clue that I was supposed to include traffic tickets. So I said "NO" to that question. I got a certified copy of all the courts that I had traffic tickets with, that the traffic tickets are cleared. In the interview, I told the officer, that I didn't know about it and then we listed all the traffic tickets in the application and I gave her the letters that said they were cleared.
The Interviewer will go through the application with you, so you have a chance to bring up anything missing or misstated.

Better yet... I called the National Disservice Line, asked them about tickets. They "explained" that there was no need to mention them in the application.

I still collected relevant docs and mentioned my speeding ticket during the interview. The interviewing officer explained that ticket(s) should be mentioned.

So in order to get the certified copies should I contact the court? Do you
know how long it takes them to mail it ,etc.?

Also, is there anything else I should take with me to the interview, I hear
they ask for last 3 years of tax filings?

Thanks.

JZI

Also, in my county court webpage, I am able to view the citation and it was
satisfied.

They say that in order to get a certified copy its $2.00 a page, how do I
know how many pages it is? Do I call them? also they say include a self
adressed evenlope, should I put in a priority mail envelope so I have like a
tracking number and it gets here ASAP.

Since I need it before April 8, 2004.

Thanks.
