I've been in the us on a TN for the past four years. Now its time to geta
car, and I have the good fortune of gettting an old family car to use here
in the states. My question is what exactly do I have to do to import this
85 diesel car? Can I fill out the HS7 form and keep renewing that status
every year as I do with my TN? And should I have an american insurance
company or a canadian one cover my vehicle?
Thanks for all your hepl

You import the vehicle once and once only. You will need to get a
letter from the manufacturer that indicates the vehicle was built to
meet the US safety and emissions standards of the time.
Once imported, you will have to plate it and insure it in the USA as
soon as it reaches its destination. This also means that you must get a
US drivers license too.
