Default Time between Citizen test and oath?

Does anyone know what the average time period between the citizenship interview
and the oath ceremony. How do they go about scheduling people for the oath.
Is it alphabetically, numerically, or by interview date?

It depends entirely on the the office and the inspector interviewing you.
At Baltimore they give the Oath ceremony the same day. But otherwise
the officer has up to 6 months to get back to you by.

Try checking the INS website for the office you'll be going through to
see if they have any info on the oath ceremonies.

Hope this helps

Last July I was sat in one of the open plan waiting rooms at the
Seattle INS and heard the introduction to the ceremony - everyone had
a new form to fill out, saying that they had or hadn't done certain
things in the time between their interview and the oath [I *think* one
of the things was about being in prison for certain listed reasons],
and it was explained that even the people who had been interviewed
that morning still needed to fill it out [even though they hadn't left
the building] as there were people who had been interviewed months ago
and the form was being given to everyone.

So that doesn't really answer your question

So iguess it's pretty much up to the interviewer. My wife is getting concerned
because at least two of her friends that interviewed after her has already been
contacted for the ceremony. They were all interviewed by the same person.\

Thanks
