My Dad is going to be the co-sponsor for my husband's immigrant visa application. I
am just getting ready to send the form off to him - it says attach copies of your tax
returns and (in my father's case) proof of self employment. Do these need to be
certified copies? (of course, that can't hurt). I just don't want to get to the
interview and have a problem regarding the "officialness" of the copies.

Thanks,

Squeezle

Have him call the IRS's automated system and request the tax transcripts for those
years. He will get them within ten days or less and it is better than the copy he has
on hand. And no, they don't have to be notarized.
