Default talked to NVC today re: Vermont

Hi everyone,
I called the NVC to see if I could find out anything about our petition filed through Vermont (first NOA July3rd)... I got absolutely nowhere. They took info. when I called before, so she said I'd have to wait another month to call again. During my conversation with the wise and wonderful woman (hahaha) I spoke with, I asked her if part of the slow down on approvals through Vermont was because they had changed buildings, she said they did not and it wasn't true. Anyone else heard this? She said they were up to date with processing, I think I'd believe that if we heard something since it's been over two months since we filed. I know it's a short wait so far compared to some centers. I just miss my fiance so much.
Best of luck to everyone that's going through this torment that we all have to deal with to be with the ones we love.
Linda

Hi:

NVC is in Portsmouth, New Hampshire and VSC is in St. Albans, Vermont. Not only are they different agencies, they are in different locations. Take a look at map -- they are as far apart as two locations in New Hampshire & Vermont can be.

Ok, maybe it's me...I don't understand these responses that are giving
you geographical locations of the offices. I went through Vermont
(VSC) and you can't call them directly anymore. The number has been
disconnected and you are directed to call the NVC's customer service
center. You are correct in calling them (National Visa Center) to ask
them about your case... I used to call every 2 weeks...I could never
wait around to call back in a month. I think it was just the strategy
they used to get you to stop bugging them....LOL. We also sent in a
formal written request that they claim they will respond to within a
month....2 months later (after the approval) I received a response.
Gee, that was helpful
They only way I got some satisfaction from the delay we experienced
thru Vermont was to call my congressman's office. The man was an angel
and SO great in helping me understand the process.
And, yes, Vermont's office did change buildings which resulted in
delays (that's what we've been told too).
