Default Summer Camp 2007 - WORK IN USA

I thought I would share my experience working in the
United States last year - and tell you how
you can do it too! I know, its gonna sound like a sales pitch
but seriously - it will be the time of your life! And yes, if
i do referr some people to work at a summer camp, i get my
application fee reduced - but this is only because i REALLY
want to get back to camp in 2007 myself!

Here we go...

-----------

In the beginning of 2006, I decided to take some
time off from my job as a radio announcer on Triple
M in Melbourne and do something completely
different. Something I never thought I would ever
do.

I left Melbourne on June 4 2006 with my destination
New York City. On arrival I then took a bus to
a town called Stroudsburg which is about 1.5
hours away in Pennsylvania. I stepped off the bus
and was greeted by some over-friendly people
asking me how my flight from Australia was. I was
very exhausted!

After a short drive from the bus station - I had
arrived at the International Gymnastics Camp. It
was in the middle of the forest - on the side of a
mountain with a beautiful lake at the bottom of
one of the hills.

This camp specialized in Gymnastics Training with
4 huge Gyms with olympic standard equipment.
Around 400 children come to this camp each
week... some of them even stayed for 2, or 3
weeks. Not only did they have a great time at
Summer Camp (which is what its all about), so did
I!

My job at camp was the Videographer - which
meant i was in charge of filming for a promotional
DVD for the camp. It was a fun job, and I had
never done anything like it in the past.
After camp, me and a few of my new friends travelled
around America for the month after work had
finished.

I learnt new skills and I made around 200 new
friends from all over the world. I have memories
that will last a lifetime - and all I can think about is
getting back there to work again in 2007.

Y O U C A N D O I T T O O ! ?
There are thousands of different summer camps all
across the USA - and many different jobs that
need to be filled each year. Camp Councilors,
Housekeeping, Photographers, Lifeguards, Kitchen
Staff, Maintenance Crews, Jet-Skiing instructors...
the list goes on and on.

It is hard work, long hours, and the pay will just
cover your expenses in getting there - but it will be
10 weeks of your life that you will never forget or
regret, and you will leave wanting to go back.

W A N T M O R E I N F O R M A T I O N ?
