Submitting pictures for I-751 as evidence
Hi, all,
I have a question for you all.
When you submitted your I-751 - how many pictures of you and your
spouse did you submit? Just trying to get an idea.
When I submitted mine, I included like a 3/4 inch stack of pics of me,
my wife, and my stepson - from Xmas pictures to pictures from the beach
to pictures when we were putting our son to bed. Just a mix of normal
everyday photos.
So I'm wondering what others have done.
Please, please share this info.
THanks,
Stan.

I included one of us together at the Tulip Festival in Ottawa, Canada along with the hotel bill and one from his niece's wedding with us and his family and again the hotel bill.

We didn't include any. DH is painfully camera shy, and every time I tried to chase him with the camera, even at Christmas time, he'd run a mile.
We're still waiting for I-751 approval, but TSC are only on Feb '06 dates, (we filed in April '06) so I don't know if this will have any negative impact as yet. It wasn't a problem for our I-485, though.

I'm that way with the camera myself but we asked a tourist to take our photo in Ottawa for just that purpose and of course, we had a family shot from the wedding. What I did was scan them into the computer and printed it out in color and wrote on the bottom where, when and who was in the photo. As I said there were only two.
I believe this poster is an overkill submitter ;-) <good nature comment> and now is sitting there and worrying himself senseless with did I send enough when it is apparent that he sent a copy of his life for the last two or more years.
Either he will be approved quickly just to get the damn file off of the desk or he will be approved long after everyone else because the examiner who has been assigned his file doesn't want to be bothered with wadding through a copy of Costo's Daily Life Blog.

Re: Submitting pictures for I-751 as evidence
We sent 4 pages (I printed them out scrapbook-style on 8.5x11 photo paper -- each page had 1-4 pics) representing 4 different trips we had taken in the 3 years that had elapsed since our AOS interview. (Background check took a year so that's why we had one more year of evidence than everyone else.) We had a trip to see his family, a vacation with my family, a recent visit by ourselves to our place of marriage, and a wedding that we attended. We included tickets/invites/other relevant docs on each page.
We were approved earlier this month.
We were approved earlier this month.

Neither of us are camera shy and we take lots and lots of pictures. I guess, to me, it doesn't really seem like "proof" of a valid marriage. Chances are, if you're married to someone under fraudulent circumstances - you'll already have worked out the details and have a few photo ops.
I used to say to Philip, "We wash each other's underwear - if that isn't a valid marriage, I don't know what is." Too bad it's hard to prove. ;o)

Wow, thanks a lot for all the info. It's VERY obvious that everyone's
circumstances are very different.
It is true that pictures may or may not represent reality well.
However, they do capture something. And combined with other things, it
may very well add a dimension to a case that would be lacked without
them, and vica versa. So they are worth something.
and thanks to Rete for making me laugh and feel a little better. I
am..well, was...really stressing out if I sent enough pictures or if
what I sent wasn't out of the ordinary. And no, they do not want to
feel the weight of my life blog on their tables. :)
Thanks!

Re: Submitting pictures for I-751 as evidence
We sent in 15 pages of photos each with 2-3 pictures representing different holiday gatherings and some photos of me with her family (she is taking picture) good thing we didn't have to write anything on it because we use a software call "PICASA-from google", it organize all photos, we discovered this a few months ago and were shocked of how many other pictures that have been forgotten in our computer. We haven't been able to take vacation together via plane since our AOS wedding and no kids. Money is the issue. We do however love to drive to tahoe every couple of months when we can. I think it is hard to prove that you went on a vacation without the plane ticket stub. we didn't care. of course we have just sent out our I-751 and hasn't hear back from CIS yet. we got the best evidence that we could provide. GOD bless us and all of you too.

It is my understanding that pictures and afidavits are not important
evidences. If you don't have much evidences, then you supplement your
applications with pics. But they don't add much values.
Mainly joint financial statements such as bank statements, credit cards,
lease, tax returns are what really count.

This is clearly disproved by so many accounts of interview with BCIS
officers when they ask for pictures or eagerly take you up on your
offer to look at the pictures and actually take time to look at them
and ask questions.

Pics are NOT "required." If you've got them, fine. The person you responded to is correct -- every case is different.

A common misconception is that the SUGGESTED list of evidence set forth in the I-751 instructions set forth the REQUIRED documents. Not so.
Personally, I think the affidavits are petty much worthless unless the case is otherwise weak, fits an adverse "profile." They are way too many different scenarios to say what is NEEDED in a general fashion.
