I have a US drivings license that expired January of this year.
I was in the US as a student. I received the renewal application in
the mail.
Now since I am no longer in the US, but come for visits (B2 visa),
what will happend if I send in the renewal application? There is a box
on the form that asks if I am legally in the US.
I know that the rgulations have changed regarding driving licences for
foreign nationals. Will my license be renewed, or will it be rejected?

This is actually state law, so it could be different from one to the next.
That said, most states now require that you actually reside in the state.
So you'd need an in-state address. It is also possible that they want to
verify your immigration status, and B-2 usually doesn't qualify. I suspect
that they don't do that for renewals, though.
