Default SSN and EAD

My wife has received a temporary (8 month) EAD and has had her SSN since
February. The SS card says something like not valid with out
authorization. I know that means the EAD, but my question is do we need
to get a new SS card that does not have the "not valid" written across
the face of it?

Thanks in advance!

You can remove the restrictions on your SS card when you adjust status. You show the SS folks your I-551 stamp and they will re-issue you a card without any restrictions.

She is not entitled to a legend free social security card until she has been granted residency status.

Thank you BOTH very much! I wasn't sure and knew someone here had
surely been this route!

Thanks again!
