Like I said it's supposed to be a preposterous B movie. Its a cult thing. Its something so bad and so stupid that it just has to be good. As the trailer says, you have seen movies with action heroes, animations with fluffy animals but have you ever seen a movie about snakes... on.. .a... plane!
It doesn't matter really about hte plot or characters because it has a great name, a stupid idea and Samuel L Jackson cursing alot, not to mention lots of inappropriate sex and violence. Its all a big two fingers to prudish PC america.
The movie takes it self seriously which is half the joke, in the same way that any good B movie does.

I'm sure the porn industry is dying to make their own version, they wouldn't even need to change the name!

I think Mr. T would have been better than Samuel Jackson...

Holy moly, if anyone mentions SOAP to me again today I'm going to put their Head on a plane.. this is getting out of hand ! The film looks really really bad to me but what's really very odd is that everybody is talking about, out of nowhere... I think I must have missed the subliminal advert or something...

Seriously this is like I'm being targeted by some gorrilla social marketing campaign...

Here's my day,

Walk out the house - giant poster on the other side of the street for SOAP

Get to the bus stop - someone mentions SOAP very loudly on their mobile. Ya Ya SOAP ya ya.. oh ya..

Get the bus - advert on the side for SOAP, someone has also graffitied a giant snake on the wall

Get the tube - not just SOAP adverts everywhere at the station but some guy with a bloody SOAP bag sits opposite me and smiles !

Get to work - 5 little GREEN plastic planes on my desk this morning --- where did they come from ? :scared:

watch out peeps !

I'm with angelman on this one. I've been following this one since it's conception (yeah, I'm a geek ). This movie, by all accounts, falls into the 'so bad it's good' category, the difference being that it was made to be that way. Where most of the old exploitation 'B' movies just made you laugh at their cheesiness, this one actually wants you to laugh at it, even though it's played straight. And how many film-makers will do reshoots based on what people on message boards say they'd like to see in the movie? Especially getting Sam to say 'that' line.

Even if the movie is really a stinker and doesn't work, I can applaud them for trying something different instead of the usual stale Hollywood crap. If nothing else I bet it'll do killer DVD sales based on the title alone.
