security clearance before AOS interview
After reading "How Tools of War On Terror Ensnares Wanted Citizens
Border, Immigration Agencies Tap Into FBI Database; Questions About
Privacy", and learned how one peroosn was mistakenly arrested,
I am concern about finding out something I, the beneficiary, am not
aware of. I paid all my traffic tickets and had returned the cable box
when I moved:)-
Mine is not marraig based and I am goign tot he interview alone.
My question is this: The fact that I got the AOS interview means I
passed the security clearance, right? So I shouldn't get any surprise
like this, right?

So what's that thing about getting GC stamp right after the interview,
once passed the interview? How can they give an interview apppointment
w/o security clearance and then gives GC stamp too?

They don't stamp you passport until your security clearance is completed
there are dozen of cases on here in the same boat ..
I think the longest wait is over 2 years ...
But its not always the case .. you most likely will sail straight through ...

I just remember something. When I moved to this state in 2003, I
applied for Driver's License here. I took my passport and noticed that
DMV made xerox copies. When I wasn't getting the license as I was told,
I called the office and was told that the security clearance just
arrived and that I would get my DL in a few days and I did.
Since then, the only thing I had were a couple of traffic tickets, one
was not moving violation; not wearing seat belt - I was just driving
for a very short distance.
So do I still need to be concern that my security clearance would take
long? Anyone?

Hope so. It took about 5-6 weeks from application date of DL in this
state I moved to. And I have lived in many states. Hoping that it
will be the same now.

Not that I am aware of:)-
Being every analytical, I just want to know when does security
clearance takes longer and when it doesn't and how long, etc. In
another word, there should be a standard time frame for each scenario
and I am curious to know about the time frame for my scenario.
BTW, when I took the teaching job at 2 year college last year, I had to
do finger printing. That's for background check, right? That would be
the same thing as security check done with DHS, right? Then, they
should be able to get my info quickly. But who knows?

Fingerprint are a small part of a security check...and are usually the quickest
I believe the CIA checks are the main ones taking the longet time ..
The USCIS has a multitude of systems they use to check us out ..

There are many people with my last name but there should be only one
with the combination of my first name and my last name that is me:)-
Actually, I am not too worried about it but as we know, misfortune come
