Route to Green Card from an E2 investor treaty visa

I know this has been probably answered before but really wanted to if there had been any recent changes or if anyone knew any new found routes to a GC from this-both direct or indirect.

I also understand that the E2 visa is a NIV.

By NIV, do you mean "non-immigrant visa" or "national interest visa"?

Of course, there's no such thing as a national interest visa, but it would be a good name for the E2, since it benefits the economy and Americans, but not the investor and his family.

At the moment, there are only two ways for E2 visa holders to get green cards - the spouse finds a job that leads to sponsorship, or one of the visa-holder's children marries a U.S. citizen and, three years later, sponsors the parents.

Or the 3rd way, if the E2 holder marries a USC and adjusts status that way (assuming they are single).
