Default Retiring to Alaska

Hello ‘forum’, ‘Admin’ or whoever you are!! Happy Christmas. I’m due to leave the military in the next 5 years and Alaska is a dream destination for my wife (Kaz) and I to settle in.
We have absolutely NO IDEA if it’s even possible for two 60 year olds to move over to that beautiful State.

Hi, welcome to BE.

Here's an overview of all of the visas available for the US - https://britishexpats.com/wiki/Pulas...ork_in_the_USA

To be blunt, if you're looking to move as retired then it will probably come down to how much cash you have!

Best of luck.

There is no retirement visa for the US.

Most people of your age who move to the US have family sponsoring them

Without family it will be down to an investment visa.

As an aside, neither OP provides their place of birth.

On the family end of things, information about parents and grandparents might be of use. 95% of the time, that info is a dry hole; but when it’s not, the reward is great.

Have you considered six months a year on tourist visa? Buy a small home and six months a year would cover all of summer and much of the more pleasant winter months.
