I don't think it works that way. It works this way: http://britishexpats.com/forum/showthread.php?p=8681021

What have you learned/done differently/decided on in the past year?

Since you last posted in July 2010, have you since gotten a degree in the IT field? Has your own business grown and you wish to expand into the USA?

No, not really...plenty already on the ground running.

Niche knowledge and experience helps though.

Currently, the US doesn't need accountants or IT specialists... and certainly not accountants or IT specialists who need sponsoring for a visa.

That said, your question is so nebulous and vacuous, it defies answer. What are you interested in?

Can I ask how you know a country the size of the USA doesn't need accountants. I always see plenty of vacancies advertised, in fact I have just been sent 194 positions available to date in the Nevada region alone.

The two things are different. If those 194 vacancies don't get filled then there is a need for accountants. If they get filled then there are obviously enough accountants to fill them so no more are needed.

If the headhunters that phone my husband on an almost daily basis are anything to go by, they need educated professionals with experience in the wind and renewable energy industry. Many people he's worked with have moved to the US after being headhunted and sponsored for a visa.

But they've all been fairly senior, have a masters degree as a minimum, and many years experience in the industry, so it would need to be a long term plan - plus of course, you'd have to actually want to do it and have a genuine interest in it, as no point otherwise.

Hi all,

firstly - business has slowed down and im trying my best to keep it afloat and then push forward to expand but its touch and go at this very moment.

Secondly - No i have not attended University but am now working for Intel (US business) although this is not something that can help for a very long time.

Guys - I was only asking if there was a list OR any method of finding out what they require.

I would rather have no response than negative criticisms.

Sorry, there is no such list.

Finding out what they require, you can target the area you're interested in (that state or city) and keep an eye on local want ads or advertisements for job openings...there is nothing like a nationwide requirement list or anything.

It's an automatic two fer one deal on that, here.

Stick with Intel. Get a transfer. They have lots of opportunities for moving around and they are hiring in Oregon right now.

If you had no responses you'd likely just ask again. What you see as "negative criticisms" we see as "honesty". Perhaps you'd prefer dishonest responses. I suggest a more Zen-like approach to this forum and the responses you receive.

You get better answers when you give good info and have realistic expectations. For instance, who is "they?" What sort of list are you looking for? What do you expect to find, a list of every skill anyone who has ever been sponsored for a work visa has?
