Default Relocating to the USA.

Good evening everyone.

I am wondering if anyone can help me out. Myself and my partner are from the UK and have wanted to move to the USA for some time. More so now, as we have a 10 month old son and would rather do it whilst he's still young to not be so affected by a huge move. The trouble is we're not sure if we could even do this. I know there's probably a zero chance we'd ever get a green card. He has an uncle who has lived in Boston for 42 years but as far as we're aware - we cannot be sponsored by an Uncle, Cousin or Aunty. Etc. Can anyone help point us in the right direction?

Thank you!

You should read this first: Pulaski's Ways: How to Live and Work in the USA : British Expat Wiki

Maybe you are eligible under one of those.

Are you married? If not, you will each need to find a way to come to the US individually via sponsorship for jobs (which route requires advanced degrees).

Also, you're correct in that for a family-based immigrant visa you cannot be petitioned by an uncle, cousin or auntie.

I see that anotherlimey has given you the link to Pulaski's info... start there. I can't help but notice that you've given us no information about your education, skills, or experience to help us help you. We're good, but we're not mind readers.

You can't get a green card without first getting a visa to the US. From what you've written, you have zero chance of getting a visa to the US.

So... what other information can you provide?
