I am applying for a spouse visa via DCF, and got my letter today with my appointment time, which also gave me a URL - http://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-gb/iv - to register at. This has a dropdown box with two different options: "I need to register an Immigrant Visa appointment" and "I need to register a K Visa (fiance or spouse/child) appointment" - the issue is that I have no idea which of these actually applies to me. We did the application via DCF, while my understanding is that K is the visa issued through the normal method, but since it specifies spouse there, is that the right type or would mine be under "Immigrant Visa" instead?
There is a warning below: "K Visa applicants will be required to pay a nonrefundable Visa application fee. If you do not know which service you require, do not continue. Verify the visa classification written on your appointment letter.", so obviously I want to make sure we get this right - which is the right type and do we need to pay now or not?
Thanks.

What visa are you applying for? Presumed a CR-1 (if married for less than two years), or an IR-1 if married for more than two years). Spouse visas are immigrant visas.
I am not sure why the web page you saw would refer to "spouses" in the pull-down related to K visas, unless it is a hang-over from the days of the (now obsolete) K-3 visas.

I'm not sure how you don't know what visa you're applying for ![Huh?](https://britishexpats.com/forum/images/smilies/huh.gif)
Are you already married? Did your spouse (?) file both an I130 and an I129F?
Surely you know whether it's an IR or a K visa!

The K-1 for finance's is called a "hybrid" visa. Under the law, all visas are "immigrant" UNLESS it is in one of the non-immigrant categories. The K-1 is processed AS IF it is an immigrant visa since only one action is required after admission to qualify one for immigration -- the actual marriage.
So, if already married -- then "immigrant" it is and K is irrelevant. [The K-3 aside which is never seen anymore].

Yes, already married; would be IR-1. Just some bad wording, I guess... Thanks for the advice.
