Quick tax question (sorry)

I've had a look at the tax return pages for filing a K1 arrival as a US
citizen for the purpose of taxes, and have a general gist of what needs to
be done. However, my wife has previously always filed online, and I note
that additional forms are required in order to file in this way. My
question, therefore, is is it possible to file online for this situation or
are we going to have to bite the bullet and do the papers? Or is it simply
dependent on whom we file through and what their online system allows (I'd
check, but I don't actually know which system she uses)?
TIA.

I would do the paperwork by hand rather than online. Not sure if the 255 is available online as well as the physical presence test you have to take to see if you qualify. Plus from this point onward you need copies of all your tax returns for AOS purposes. Easier to have the copies at hand than to have filed online and not have them.

That's a good point... *sigh* Guess I'll have to get intimately acquainted with
tax forms![Wink](https://britishexpats.com/forum/images/smilies/wink.gif)
