Default quick question on police reports???

still finding my way round the site, but not seen anything about what or how about to obtain your own police report????

What things would be under scrutiny?

The only reason i ask is I only have the odd traffic vilolation but they have been vanquished as that was 1999 ish and have totally been removed from my licence record...

I have never been refused entry to the usa as i have been on holiday at least once a year since 1990 and twice this year due to meeting my GF online, but got a different set of questions that i more or less expected....always tell the officer why im coming to america....

Here you go link to the application form and a FAQ section....

http://www.acpo.police.uk/certificates.asp

It's in regard to Criminal Records, what sort of traffic violations are they?

Query: Is not that link limited to police certificates from the UK only? I don't see any country on the reciprocity tables of the Department of State which states they are good regarding residence in any other country.

I have a question too. How does USCIS define a police certificate for places you have lived since 16? Does it include short 4 or 6 months exchange programs and work/studies overseas? Also is this state record or FBI records?

You need a police report from any country you lived in *more than 1 year* after the age of 16.

Does this include both state and federal police reports?

I guess that might depend on the political structure of the country in question.

In the case of the UK the answer would be "neither" unless, in that context, you took "state" to mean "United Kingdom" ...

The US government requires a report from each country... that should make your answer pretty easy to figure out.

Note: This post is tangential to this thread. Related, but tangential. This thread is about overseas visa applications and your post is not.

I lived in the US for a period, which was why I was asking about state and FBI records. We're still applying for a K-1.

Be aware, though, that you will NOT need a police report from the USA. The USA will do its own security checks. You only need a police report from countries other than the USA.
