Indeed. There are sometimes options the OP hadn't thought of if/when we learn more details about their circumstances.

Yeah but K-1 isn't an option. I don't know what else about my circumstances I can really tell. I want to move to the US as I have a better support system than in the UK without going into that in too much detail because it would mean explaining my family's background.

Just wondering but getting a job as a nanny when you have a child with special needs, is it that practical?

She may have had learning difficulties when she was younger but she is not special needs.

It was the description you used in a prior post.

Perhaps. I am thinking this wrong but I visualise nanny's as being single live in.

Yes but does it matter? You're anonymous anyway.

If you were in discussions with an attorney they'd ask the same questions and charge you a lot for doing so. At least here it's free and the feedback, while not always diplomatic, is usually high quality.

Good luck.

Won't the father's consent be needed to take the child out of the UK to the USA even though the child is USC?

About the only thing you can do is look at the article on here called Pulaski's Ways, look at the list of available visas, and see if you qualify for any of them. If not, you can only come as a visitor.

Well your question was "Can I work in the US if someone is willing to sponsor my visa as a nanny?", and the answer was "no".

Unless you're willing to open up a little about your circumstances this thread has already dragged on about 26 posts more than your original question warranted.

There are other options, EB3 and H2b come to mind. But I agree talk to a Lawyer in the privacy of the consulting room.

Thank you, I'll look into the EB3 and H2b.
