Wife earns a decent amount and is above the poverty line, but has to pay a lot to her credit card companies. The bank statements show this.
Is this bad and does it make a difference towards the affidavit of support in anyway.
Kindly do let me know.
Thank you all.

Amazingly, the US Government does not take debts into account, only income.
If using assets, you only get to use the 'real' equity of, for example, real estate.

Works out good for me as I am still paying off a mound of student loans!

What bank statements?? If qualifying based on income, you show them
proof of income. You don't have to show bank statements unless you need
to prove assets. BCIS looks at income, not expenses.

Not really.. They care if you have the money to pay them back, if needed
. Generally, they have more power than other creditors, so they can get
the payments before your unsecured creditors.
