Default QUESTION ABOUT OATH CEREMONY

Hope someone can answer this?

Just been notified about my oath ceremony has been scheduled and a letter has been sent. It also states that if my letter is not received by Oct 9th that I should inform them.

Normally, I would assume that the ceremony would have to be after Oct 9th, but it is computer generated.

Can anyone confirm who has received one of these letters that the date of informing them is always before the date of the Oath Ceremony.

From memory you usually get at least two weeks notice.

Our letter was received a month before the oath date.

Thanks, I will be away until 4th October. It says that if I don't receive the letter by October 9th I should contact them, so I expect the Oath Ceremony after the 9th.

You get about 4 weeks notice. Someone I worked with gave up a special occasion for me because we could not be gone at the same time.

Umm... he found out about it after it happened. He didn't attend that ceremony - which is why he referred to it as the first Oath Ceremony.

What he said. And as a side note, the 'contact them' date if I didn't receive the notice was about 2 weeks after the ceremony!

Thanks,

I was wondering about the date, October 9th. The ceremonies in Phoenix are held on a Friday. Their schedule is
September 16th 2 ceremonies
September 23rd 2 ceremonies
September 30th No ceremonies
October 7th 2 ceremonies
October 14th 2 ceremonies

Oct. 9 is just the latest date to expect the letter. Not the oath date itself.

Well, got the letter and the Oath ceremony is tomorrow, Tuesday. It seems that there are extra ceremonies this month.

Thanks for answering my questions, it has been appreciated.

Looks like they want to ensure that as many new citizens as possible have the right to vote in the upcoming election.

Yes, there is a ceremony today in West Phoenix and mine tomorrow in Central Phoenix, these are not being done in a court. One on Friday at the court in Phoenix.

They don't need to be done in a court of law. It makes the ceremony a bit more celebratory but some USCIS offices hold them right there in their USCIS offices.
