Default Pros & Cons Of E Filing Ap . . .

What are the pros and cons of e filing AP as opposed to using the snail mail method?

Advantages or disadvantages?

Faster or slower?

I didn't think you were able to e-file for AP, and that was only available for the Employment Authorization? I couldn't see the option for it upon checking the USCIS forms list for the I-131.

Hi:

Inasmuch as e-filing is not available, it would seem that snail mail is better -- or in-person filing if allowed in your district.

We filed our EAD renewal online but I didn't see anything about AP

Mr. Folksy,

It sure looks like e filing is available for Form I-131, Application For Travel Document.

Hi:

Mea culpa -- it is NOT listed in the general CIS weblist of forms as being eligbible for e-filing. I guess its a kink from the fact that this form was just added.

Its too new to see which one will be advantageous.

I tried the e-filing of AP, sent required documentation with registered mail a day after filing online. Got RFE'd for ADIT pictures which must have got lost in the mailroom...

As I no longer need AP I do not really care- yet if I had to do it again I would go for the snail mail version...

Good luck,

Rebecca.

You have really made a good point.

Its just one more chance for foul up when you send in documents that CIS then has to put with the e filed application. The can't help but lose or misplace stuff.

Guess the logic of e filing is best when you just send in one application and do not then have to separately send in more documents.
