You will not find "Pro Bono Publico" legal help on misc.immigration.usa, or
anywhere else on the WEB. You have to contact your local BAR association.
No lawyer works for free in "political asylum" cases, unless the person is
an internationally known professional escaping from communist country.

Hi:

http://www.usdoj.gov/eoir/sibpages/ICadr.htm

click on the appropriate court, then on the "Legal Aid" button.

If you don't know what you are talking about, you should keep your
mouth shut. I am inquiring this info because I have seen the link by
accident but before that I have met a person who got such help via an
immigration clinic at a law school. And, I found the link Foin...l...
posted and called one of them and though they don't handle asylum cases
anymore they gave me another number which I contacted. I will have to
call again because the lawyers have left already (Friday) when I
called.

Thanks. I did find one that's via usdoj which wasn't quite the same
page. The link you gave seems better designed and more readable.
