Default Police Clearance from 30 years ago

Hi there, I am an aussie sheila heading for florida.

This is my 1st post as we embark on the k1 journey.

My question is: I understand a police clearance being needed, but I migrated to Australia from the UK 30 years ago, though i was over the age of 16. Is a clearance still going to be necessary from there as well as the Australian one?

I think you need police clearances from all the places you lived after the age of 16...so if you were in the UK past the age of 16, I would imagine that you still need a police clearance from there too, if this is incorrect someone on here will put you right...but I would look into what you have to do to obtain a certificate from the uk...just in case.

Good Luck

First I want to welcome you to "The Sunshine State" a bit early!
You need a certificate from every place you have lived. So, yes. Get one
from the U.K.
When we went for our interview in Paris one of the few questions we were
asked is how long it took us to get the police clearance from Australia.
I think she was surprised we had it. We had help from friends there who
submitted the paperwork for us.

Thanks Capt, both for the info and the welcome...and actually the
coincidence is I live in the "Sunshine State" here in Queensland - but I
found lots to like about Florida, besides the fact that the man in my life
lives there!
