Default Police Certificates

Hi Everyone,

My fiance and I just got our NOA2- our I-129F has been approved! Its very exciting but now I am starting to worry about the next steps. My main question is about Police Certificates.
My fiance currently lives in Liverpool, UK, but went to uni in Newcastle. Does he have to get a police certificate for both cities or just the UK in general? Also, and this is my biggest worry...we met while both studying abroad in Spain in 2006. Does he need a police certificate from Spain? If so, does anyone have any advice on how to do that?!

Thank you!!!!

Your fiance needs a police certificate for any country he has lived in for a year or more. Not local areas (cities, counties etc)

For the UK its the ACPO police certificate he needs to fill in and send away with the supporting documents listed.

Congratulations, jensmoxie!
Now the real work begins, lots of documents to gather up. In addition to the details about the police certificates, why don't you check the 2 wiki entries on K-1 visa here? There's one general one, and one specific to London.
The sooner you're prepared, the sooner you can respond when the visa app starts.

By way of random polling, which Service Center approved your I-129f and about how long did it take? Like to keep track of these things for others' benefit, and I hear they're going fast these days.

PepsiC, thanks for the post + link!

Thank you!

We were working with the California Service Center. We sent the original packet on April 4, 2007. Our NOA1 is dated April 7, 2009 and our NOA2 is dated September 2, 2009.

PC,

Point of clarification: for the UK and many other countries this is true, but there are some countries where it is not true and police certificates are issued locally or regionally in the country.
