Hi, I applied for permanent residence and I received the receipt a month ago. I'd
like to go back to my country for about a month next summer, and I don't know whether
I should apply for a re-entry permit or an advance parole. What does "conditional
resident" mean on the application for travel document? If I have to apply for an
Advance Parole, I must give evidence of a very urgent reason to leave the country?
thank you for your help, Sasha

You have to apply for Advance Parole if your permanent residency application is still
pending. Conditional resident is a person who is adjusted based on marriage and since
the marriage is not over 2 years, INS will issue a green card with expiration date in
18 months to make sure that the marriage is valid. The applicant then has to apply to
remove the conditional.
