Default Please Help

i have browsed through almost all the posts on the internet but am
still unable to find a definitive answer for the following question:

i have a visa interview in 20 days...i have my 'tax transcripts'
mailed by IRS for the years 2001 and 2002 (only years i had income)
but i DONOT have copies of tax returns (1040)for 2001 and 2002...is
that ok? i have my w-2 for 2001 and 2002.

my interview is in india.

will i have problems if i donot have copies of tax returns but have
tax transcripts...i donot have time to order certified copies of tax
returns now...

should i postpone my interview and order copies of tax returns by
paying $39 for each year...

please give me your suggestions...

regards
rahul

This normally depends on the Embassy. I took tax transcripts with the letter from the IRS showing they sent them and it was fine. I have read of others that wanted the copies with W-2s. I'm not sure which one India needs, however, email the embassy and ask if tax transcripts or ok.

Since tax transcripts come directly from the IRS - and are directly based on your filed returns - they are considered equal to tax returns for USCIS purposes. Since you also have the W-2's, you should be fine. Don't postpone your interview. If you have a problem at the interview, deal with it then - but my feeling is you should have no problem with transcripts.
